How to Set Up Deposit Amounts and Deposit Thresholds in Let’s Camp

Let’s Camp allows you to collect deposits from campers instead of requiring full payment up front. You can configure a deposit percentage (or a fixed dollar amount) and set a deposit threshold — a reservation total above which the deposit option kicks in. This guide walks through configuring these settings and shows what the camper experience looks like at check out.

Part 1: Configuring Deposit Settings

1. Log in to your Let’s Camp account.
2. From the left-hand menu, click Settings.
3. Go to General Settings, then Camp Settings (the third option down). You can also reach Camp Settings directly from the left-hand menu.
4. On the Camp Settings page, click Edit Camp Settings in the top-right corner.
5. Scroll about halfway down the page to find the Deposit Amount and Deposit Thresholds section.

Choosing a Deposit Type

You can collect a deposit in one of two ways:

• Percentage — e.g., 50% of the total accommodation cost.
• Fixed dollar amount — a flat fee regardless of the reservation total.

Select whichever option fits your campground’s policy.

Setting a Deposit Threshold (Optional)

The deposit threshold determines the reservation total at which the deposit option becomes available to campers.

• If you want the deposit option to only apply once a reservation exceeds a certain amount, enter that amount in the threshold field. For example, setting a 50% deposit with a $500 threshold means campers booking a reservation over $500 will be offered the choice to pay the deposit or pay in full.
• If you want every reservation to have the deposit option regardless of price, leave the threshold field blank.

Hiding the Full Payment Option

By default, campers who qualify for a deposit are given a choice: pay the deposit or pay in full. If you’d rather not offer the full-payment choice, you can hide the full payment option so only the deposit is available.

Important: Collecting a deposit does not automatically collect the remaining balance. It’s your responsibility to collect the rest of the payment — either when the camper arrives or before they leave, depending on your campground’s process. Reservations with an outstanding balance will appear in red on your dashboard so you can easily spot them.

Part 2: What Campers See When Booking

To understand how these settings affect the booking experience, you can view your campground’s public booking page as a camper would.

1. Go to your Let’s Camp campground profile page (the public-facing side).
2. Select your desired dates and number of guests, then choose a site — just as a camper would.
3. If the reservation total exceeds your configured deposit threshold, the booking page will automatically present the deposit option.
   • For example, with a $500 threshold and a reservation total of $930, the camper will see the choice to pay in full or pay the deposit.
4. Add the site to the cart. At checkout, campers may also see optional add-ons, such as a lock site fee to guarantee they keep their assigned site.
5. After entering the required information and accepting the terms, the camper selects either Pay Full or Pay Deposit and clicks Save to complete the booking.

Part 3: Tracking Deposits on Your Dashboard

1. Go to your Let’s Camp dashboard.
2. Navigate to the relevant date range and refresh the dashboard if needed.
3. Reservations with an outstanding balance appear in red, making them easy to identify at a glance.
4. Click into a reservation and scroll down to view payment details. You’ll see:
   • The deposit amount that was paid.
   • The outstanding balance still owed.
5. Collect the remaining balance from the camper either on arrival or before departure, according to your campground’s policy.
